Infra-structural Facilities :

The Institute has well-furnished spacious classroom adorned with audio-visual aids.
Laboratories are also well-equipped. The Anatomy Laboratory has an extensive variety of anatomical models, charts and viscera of different organs for living demonstration. The physiology, Bio-chemistry and Microbiology Laboratory have almost all instruments and appliances. Every year Laboratory facility is being augmented. A modern Nutrition and Dietetics Laboratory has been set up. The Physiotherapy Clinic has both electro therapy and exercise therapy departments. OPD clinics are held and BPL patients are treated free of cost.
The Library of the institute is rich with books and other materials. The internet facility accentuates learning outcomes.

Vidyasagar Institute of Health – also a hospital with a difference :

Besides the Para – Medical College section, Institutionalized health care and service wing forms an integral part of Vidyasagar Institute of Health. As a matter of fact, the hospital unit has been set up with two major objectives in view (i) to provide quality medical treatment and support to patients at an affordable cost (ii) to offer on the floor training facilities to students pursuing different Para – Medical Courses.
The hospital commenced its journey in a modest way with 10 beds on and from 26.12.2002 under permission from the Government of West Bengal as per Clinical Establishment Rules. At present it has been upgraded into a 25 bedded hospital, the special features of this hospital are highlighted below :

• The Hospital is fully air conditioned – not only cabins but also general, male and female wards have been brought
  under this facility.
• The Emergency Department works for 24 hours on round – the – clock basis.
• The OPD remains open for days a week including Sunday. Renowned doctors sit at the departments of General
  Medicine, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Dental,  Eye, Skin, Etc.
• All sorts of pathological tests are done with utmost care and accuracy.
• Medical instrument – based diagnostic tests like X-ray, USG, ECG, Echocardiography and PFT are performed
  regularly.
• All kinds of major and minor operations like Hysterectomy, Herninorrhaphy, Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy,
  Laparoscopic Appendicectomy, Fissurectomy, I.M. nailing, Arthroplasty, Patelectomy, Prosthesis Implantation are
  conducted by expert surgeons in our tremendously specious and well – equipped O.T. with C – ARM Machine.
• Kolkata – based Super specialists in the kelds of Endocrinology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Gastro enterology, and
  visit at the outdoor periodically.
• The institute has the proud privilege of having modern Dialysis Unit – two USA Baxter machines are at work on
  routine as well as emergency Another Gambro Dialyser Machine has been procured.
• 4 – Bedded I.C.CU & 2 – bedded I.T.U. form the core of our Cardiac Care section. There are facilities for TMT,
  Holter and temporary Pace – maker.
• Though outdoor Eye Unit has been functioning from the inception, recently this department has been overhauled.
  Micro – surgery Unit has started.
• Child Care unit has also been expanded and a Baby Critical Care unit has been introduced.
• The physiotherapy clinic manned by adequately qualiked physiotherapist has been running almost every day for
  indoor and outdoor patients.
• Day & night Ambulance Services is available for transport of patients. Our organisation also offers Ambulance
  service at block level health centres for the sake of the rural people.
• There is a pharmacy shop inside the hospital complex so that the patient party can purchase medicines at any point of
  time.
• The companions and relatives of the patients can stay at night in the dormitories at normal charges.
• There are some guest quarters to accommodate outside distinguished visitors.
• Such infra – structural facilities as Telephone Booth, Xerox Centre, Canteen, etc. have been built up the Campus.

Needless to say, the rates charged here are appreciably lower than those realised in any other Clinical establishment in and round the region. Service is prompt, precise and productive. Management is also sensitive, responsive and goal – oriented.

The institute not only focuses on curative side of health but also works on preventive and primitive aspects of health. For that matter, it organises general health check – up camps, blood sugar detection camps, heart check – up camps, free eye- operation camps etc. alone or in collaboration with different Non – Government and voluntary Organization. Medical teams are also sent in different tournaments, conferences and mass gatherings. It is enthusing to note that notwithstanding its very young age, VIH has made a mark in the sector of health services as a non- government initiative. However, there is no place for self complacency.
